Serve

serve1“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)  We want to be people who love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength; love others passionately and graciously, and then Serve the world. The most famous verse in the Bible reminds us that God gave us His best: His Son. That whoever believes in Him, whoever trusts Him, whoever will follow Him, whoever will become devoted to Him, will not perish, will not be destroyed by all the darkness of sin and guilt and death, but will share in this new kind of life, this Jesus kind of life that will never end. Jesus came and what He did with His life was serve. Jesus said whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant just as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. (Matthew 20:27-28)

In this class we will begin to explore what it means to “Serve.” We will identify our spiritual gifts, and learn how we can share them with the world.  We’ll take a spiritual gifts survey to help  determine what our spiritual gifts are. We will look at how those gifts relate to various ministry teams and places to serve.  We will learn what it means to live in this congregation, and in the community in a way that affirms our values. We’ll talk about developing a “Head to Heart” faith and find ways to learn to live out our faith in our everyday life.
